From a young age designer Jarithza Carlson was always in love with fashion. She first began her career sketching dresses on note pads at the young age of nine and has since spent hours learning and perfecting her designs. At fourteen she began taking apparel construction lessons and tutored with local designer Meghan Harney who taught her strong fundamentals of sewing. Throughout high school, Jarithza made several garments for herself and friends while also completing a pre-college fashion design program at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
After she began studying apparel Design at Louisiana State University, Jarithza attended a program at the Paris College of Art for fashion couture and even participated in a European Fashion Field Study with LSU. She then showcased her collection at New Orleans Fashion Week, where she placed second in the Top Design Competition, and at Fashion Association at LSU's Annual Fashion Show in Baton Rouge.
Her most recent achievement is working as a sample room assistant on Vera Wang's design team in New York City. Where for the past two years she has spent her time supporting and learning from Vera's talented designers, pattern makers, sewers and in house production team. This unique experience has allowed her to learn and understand in depth the meticulous detail that goes into every step when creating a collection.
